Happened to me about 10 years ago, except I was the hitter and not the hittee. Assclown in front of me had two days to merge into traffic, I was looking over my shoulder, saw the break and let off the gas. Bang, at 5 mph or less. We exchanged information, reluctantly, as there was zero damage to either car, not so much as a scratch. I think I didn't have my insurance info in the car, so I just gave him my license info. Got a letter from his insurance company a few weeks later for $400 or so dollars, WTF? Didn't fight it, just forwarded it on to my insurance company, problem solved. That guy was a fucking idiot pussy driver though, probably hit his brakes on purpose. Asshole.
